The utility trailer was found on Monday on 70th and Raymond. It was found because the construction crew building the house called Portland Police Dept. Of course, the trailer was emptied of all valuable items, including a very customized Harley. However, the thieves attempted to spray paint identifying labels on the utility trailer, and left their finger prints in the wet paint. They also bought a head lamp from Bed Bath and Beyond. I know this because the thief(s) left the packaging and the receipt in the trailer along with a black plastic trash bag (not ours) with Sub Way sandwich wrappers. They also left their other garbage in it too.

However, because the Gresham police officer failed to obtain an inventory of everything that was stolen out of the utility trailer, the offices recovering the Harley didn't have the tools they needed to have probable cause to obtain a search warrant.

Our Gresham Police handled a gun altercation in our neighborhood perfectly. Gunslinger was nasty, loud, & very disrespectful to authorities but police officers were calm, cool, & professional, even kind to the overgrown brat. Nobody physically hurt in what could have been a tragic situation. Perfection! Thank You!

This person still has (if he didn't dump the rest of the items last night) $15,000.00 worth of our possessions. All of my brand new leathers, rain gear (black and deep pink) helmets, gloves, 2 pair of women's leather pants, 2 leather Jackets, one of them very recognizable as it has the Indian Motorcycle Chief's head imprinted on the back) ,- my boyfriends kut, over 40 years of patches and pins, brass family heirlooms (yes, the person who left the items has passed) cremated ashes, electronics, and 90% of my clothing, several coats-these items are in / were in Atlas Van Line boxes. The items are cowboy boots, cowboy hats, western saddle tack, and about 70,000 black music CD's. My leathers, the back rest to the Indian, tools, Christmas decorations, a shark vacuum and 2 shark electronic floor cleaners, assorted kitchen appliances, and the list can go on and on and on..... it's been 2 hours since I last tried to speak to a law enforcement official, still no response.....

There was a black suv parked on the street outside my kitchen window, and the person was acting odd and I called the Gresham non emergency number and the police were here within 5 minutes!!! What a GREAT JOB!!! The police did arrest him and he was taken away!!! Great Job Gresham POLICE!!!

I am struggling with my experience. On Saturday the 21st of October our utility trailer was stolen right out of the storage area of our RV park.

Was just hung up on by lady named Heidi. Our car was stolen and pick up off the street by a tow company. I called the station to see if they were going to follow up on it maybe start an investigation or something. Long story short Heidi basically told me that it wasn't worth the time. When I said " so you found my car and that's it?" She replied Portland found your car and that's it." and hung up on me. Don't try and ask them for any help and if you do just expect half hearted attempts.

Last night, the Harley was recovered - thanks only to the anonymous tip.

I have left 3 voice mails for the officer who took the initial report, and 3 voice mails for the officer who recovered the utility trailer to advise of the possible additional evidence to recovery my things and arrest and prosecute the thief. So far this morning, I have spoken to ten people in law enforcement-none of those ten people can tell me who to speak with and have transferred me willy nilly all over the place. Right now-I still have not spoken to a single person who will accept accountability and actually help me.

I am grateful Ruby has been recovered, I am thankful we have the utility trailer back, I am shattered that law enforcement has dropped the ball and failed to pursue recovery of the other items.

Eyewitness's said the thief was a bald "skinny white male" with a salt and pepper goatee, wearing white sunglasses. He was driving a normal contractors type white van with ladders on the top.

I've heard some bad stories about these guys. I am likely to believe those stories considering the amount OF FILTH POURING OUT OF GRESHAM!

The man that had the Harley was John Hughs. The Harley was recovered a few blocks from the utility trailer. He is "storing it for a friend" but wasn't able to give the friends name...... yes, the very middle of Felony Flatt's.
